Paperwork and Words of Life aims to be a structural representation of how my brain works, almost an attempt to have the viewer directly step into it as I often find it difficult to express my train of thoughts in a coherent way as my mind has a tendency to follow many ideas at once. The original title for this installation was Connections, precisely because I wanted to transmit to the viewer how, sometimes, different ideas and approaches can contribute to a complex concept. The installation, mostly made out of cardboard and paper, includes various self-made books, where I show photographs, processes and experiments, tributes photographs, newspapers’ articles along with a live performance which consist in myself writing on the walls using the word-association technique which I use on a daily base as a way to brainstorm and possibly fundamental for the overall understanding of the work. With this work I’m exploring the relation and impact between the contemporary world on myself and on society as whole.
